Small Business Cyber Checkup
Service Description
The Small Business Cyber Checkup is a structured 2-hour working session designed to assess your organization’s current cybersecurity posture and build a practical, customized roadmap for strengthening your defenses. This is not a technical audit filled with jargon. It is a strategic and operational review tailored specifically for small businesses that need clarity, direction, and measurable next steps. During the session, we will: 1. Assess Your Current Risk Landscape We evaluate how your business operates — including devices, cloud systems (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, etc.), website platforms, payment processors, remote access, Wi-Fi networks, backup systems, and vendor relationships. We identify gaps related to phishing exposure, ransomware risk, data protection weaknesses, access control issues, and compliance considerations relevant to your industry. 2. Review Policies & Safeguards We examine what protections are already in place: Multi-factor authentication (MFA) Password management Data backup and recovery readiness Endpoint security Email filtering Vendor risk awareness Cyber insurance alignment If policies exist, we evaluate their maturity. If they do not, we identify priority areas for implementation. 3. Identify Business Impact Exposure We translate cyber risk into business terms: What would downtime cost? What data, if compromised, would damage trust? Are you protected legally and operationally in the event of a breach? Are you meeting state and federal data protection expectations? 4. Build Your Custom Roadmap Before the session ends, you receive a structured action plan outlining: Immediate priorities (0–30 days) Stabilization steps (30–90 days) Strategic maturity goals (3–12 months) Budget-conscious recommendations Governance and documentation improvements This roadmap is designed to be realistic, scalable, and aligned with your business growth objectives — not overly complex enterprise controls that do not fit small business realities. Outcome of the Session You leave with: Clear visibility into your current risk level Defined next steps A prioritized security improvement plan Greater confidence in protecting your business, clients, and reputation The Small Business Cyber Checkup brings structure, clarity, and accountability to cybersecurity — transforming uncertainty into a deliberate, defensible strategy forward.
